Internship Opportunities
At the Children’s Advocacy Center, internships provide a meaningful opportunity to gain hands-on experience while supporting children and families on their path to healing. We are committed to creating a learning environment where students can grow professionally while contributing to work that makes a lasting impact in our community.
Why Intern With Us?
Interns at the Children’s Advocacy Center gain insight into a multidisciplinary approach to child abuse response, working alongside professionals in advocacy, investigations, and family support.
Through this experience, interns may:
- Learn about the Children’s Advocacy Center model
- Gain exposure to trauma-informed care practices
- Observe how agencies collaborate to support children and families
- Build professional skills in communication, documentation, and client support
- Contribute to meaningful, mission-driven work
Internship Opportunities
Internship opportunities may be available in the following areas:
Victim Advocacy
Support advocacy staff in assisting children and families, providing resources, and helping navigate services.
Forensic Interview Support
Assist with preparation and coordination related to forensic interviews in a child-friendly setting.
STEP – Support, Tools & Education for Parents
Assist with parenting education classes by helping prepare materials, class preparation, and creating welcoming spaces for families and children.
Prevention & Community Outreach
Help with community education efforts, awareness campaigns, and events such as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Marketing & Development
Support the organization’s outreach and fundraising efforts by assisting with social media content, storytelling, donor communications, and event promotion.
Administrative Support
Gain experience in nonprofit operations, including data entry, scheduling, general office support, and assistance with grant writing.
Availability of positions may vary by semester.

Requirements
Due to the sensitive nature of our work, interns must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a fingerprint clearance card
- Pass a background check
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Complete required training and orientation
Additional requirements may be determined based on role or academic program.
