Thank you to the Foothills Club of Tucson for choosing the Southern Arizona Children’s Advocacy Center to receive funding for our Child and Family Support program. Their generous donation will make a difference in the lives of many child victims by providing books, toys, and healthy snacks. These small items make a big difference to children as they begin the healing process from the abuse the have suffered.
The Foothills Club of Tucson is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2007 by local business professionals and civic leaders who wanted to give back to their community. Their mission is to support the goals of non-profit organizations in our community that directly impact youth in need. Members meet monthly to network and trade business news and ideas, plan special fundraising events and are introduced to the various organizations we fund on a quarterly basis.
The Foothills Club of Tucson is dedicated to ensure funds are raised to assist children in need in Southern Arizona. They award numerous grants quarterly to organizations for programs and services that support youth in need in our community. And they support a variety of other local community needs specifically identified by club members.

Funding from the Violence Against Women Act
Several southern Arizona organizations are getting a share of funding from the Violence Against Women Act. The act was extended in Arizona by Governor Doug Ducey last year. The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southern Arizona is one of those organizations. Learn more in this news story from KGUN 9:

TUCSON (KVOA) – Authorities saw the number of child abuse cases drop drastically at the beginning of the pandemic. But experts said child abuse didn’t disappear and got worse.

Thank to our friends at TEP for a generous $10,000 donation to upgrade the technology in our conference/training room. Providing trainings and parent support classes virtually during COVID made us realize that the technology we were working with with was very outdated. Thanks to TEP we are able to bring all that up to date! Work is about to begin to upgrade this technology to better serve our clients and partners. Keep watchin for updates.

Local Drop-off Sites Needed for our Holiday Toy Drive and Fundraiser
In the following weeks, David Kamara, the new director of Community Development will be reaching out to local establishments to connect them to our cause for the children and families of the Children’s Advocacy Center. Our yearly Hope and Healing for the Holidays event is a toy drive and fundraiser, providing happiness and comfort to children who have experienced some trauma and hurt. Join us in hosting and accepting one of our toy drive boxes and/or contributing to our gift funds. Your participation will be recognized by your patrons; the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southern Arizona will acknowledge those who host a drive and those who raise funds. We want to thank you in advance for your support and help in turning frowns upside down this holiday season! All contributions are tax-deductible as the CAC is a registered non-profit and a public charity recognized as tax-exempt by the IRS under Section 501 (c)(3).
